Systems Administrator
Location: Washington, DC
The Office of Senator-elect Alsobrooks is seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Systems Administrator in her Washington, D.C. office. Qualified candidates should be familiar with Senate information technology (IT) procedures and policies and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leads the office’s entire approach to physical and cloud-based technology systems, including acquisition, maintenance, deployment, and security, in both the Washington D.C. and Maryland offices.
- Assists the senator and staff with troubleshooting technology issues by providing training and support related to IT systems, portable electronic devices, and IT security.
- Updates and maintains the office’s IT systems in the Washington, DC and state offices; maintains the Active Directory and other user accounts.
- Manages the office’s equipment inventory database; researches and recommends IT hardware, software, and communications equipment for procurement.
- Develops and maintains information management for the office, including methods to process, manage, archive, and store all electronic data.
- Assists the Administrative Director in the development and management of the IT budget.
- Ensures system security and staff compliance with Senate cybersecurity requirements and serves as a representative for Senate support organizations on information technology issues.
