Press Assistant

Location: Washington, DC

Overview: The office of Senator-elect Angela Alsobrooks seeks a hardworking and detail-oriented Press Assistant. This is an entry-level role that is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a passion for political/cultural news media and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Press Secretary in drafting releases, op-eds, public statements, talking points, and speeches
  • Monitor and compile daily media — news coverage (local and national), social media coverage, issue coverage, and more
  • Maintain press contact lists and manage media databases
  • Contribute any necessary research for written materials, including speeches, talking points, op- eds, press releases, memos
  • Perform administrative duties — managing press kits, organizing communications files, securing press conference locations, assisting with social media toolkits

Location and Work Environment: The office of Senator-elect Alsobrooks is hiring for this role in Washington D.C.
